Description for Q2 Quality Assurance Engineer

A Q2 QE will work with an Engineering team to maintain a high level of quality in the product across releases. SMTS QA engineers have a wealth of experience and knowledge that comes with working on the most algorithmic complex products in the financial world. They have a deep understanding of end to end lending and / or leasing operations including origination, underwriting, servicing and collections.

Your deliverables as Quality Engineer/SDET will include, but are not limited to, the following:

You will participate the quality of large features/products/services, including their end-user experience and impact.
You should account for external dependencies in your plan and prioritize across multiple conflicting tasks/issues to plan for timelines.
You establish predictability and notify stakeholders about any delays, changes in release cycles, sprint plans, etc. during execution.
You collaborate and build good working relationships with peers and other team members.
You leverage your skills within a specific area to understand the various components of the problem and solve them logically.
You should be able to deliver solutions, despite not having all the possible pieces of information and should be able to manage unanticipated changes.
You effectively cope with change and shift gears comfortably.
You are able to break medium and large size stories/sub-features testing into smaller testing tasks.
You identify bottlenecks in run time and should be able to eliminate the same.

Required Skills And Experience

BTech, MCA, or MTech in Computer Science or related technical discipline (or equivalent).
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail, critical thinking, debugging, and solid communication, with the ability to track multiple test executions simultaneously and report results.
2 + years of software development and testing experience.
Experience in Automation for UI, Backend, API, Web, and Performance (Selenium, REST API, Locust, Apache JMeter, Grafana, Kafka, etc.)
Strong coding skills, proficient in at least one object-oriented programming or scripting language (Python preferred)
Experience with one or more continuous integration tools (Jenkins), and version control systems (Git/Bitbucket)
Experience with DevOps tech stacks (Docker, Jenkins, AWS, etc.)
Exposure in container orchestration tools is a plus (Hashicorp nomad, Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, etc.)
Exposure to Performance or any other Non-Functional testing.
Knowledge of test methodology and tools, software testing standards, methods and conventions, build systems, and the product development cycle.
Experience working with, customizing, and extending test automation frameworks.
